Belton Metal Company is based in Upstate South Carolina and is a leader among scrap metal companies in an area including Belton, Anderson, Greenville, Greenwood and beyond.
The ongoing expansion of our client base has caused our company to be recognized among national scrap metal dealers and brokers. Our company was started in 1962 and, being a family owned business with strong Christian values for three generations, we have developed a well-respected reputation. We are relationship driven. We believe there is more to gain than just profit; there are personal relationships to be developed, nurtured and sustained. Our focus on client satisfaction has helped us maintain a solid company structure for many years.
We do not work through agents. We speak directly to our clients thus we are able to find our their needs, give answers, solidify deals and make schedules right then and there. No hassle. No waiting. No problem.
Our extensive inventory of processing equipment and our friendly, hard-working employees have set us apart in the industry. Handling the large amount of recyclable metals which we process daily would not be possible without the skill and determination of our employees, along with having the best equipment available.
We offer a wide range of scrap metal, both ferrous and non-ferrous, at the best prices in the Upstate area. We are a diversified scrap metal buyer, broker and dealer. We offer complete container programs including convenient pick-ups and deliveries. We do not buy from the general public which allows us to be entirely focused on our industrial clients.
Our website has been developed to showcase our location, our equipment and our staff. As it develops, our definitive goal is for it to become a go-to resource for anyone looking to further educate themselves in the business of scrap metal recycling.

Belton Metal Company has certified scales guaranteed to provide accurate weight measurements both for our own use and for our customers peace of mind.

Our History:
Scrap Metal is in our Blood
J.C. "Junie" Clary
IMr. J.C. "Junie" Clary, who was the grandfather of current Operations Manager Mark Clary, started C&C Scrap Metal in Kings Mountain, North Carolina in 1951. The company is still in operation today and maintains a solid business relationship with Belton Metal Company.
Belton Metal Begins
Lloyd "LG" Clary
Lloyd “LG” Clary was born Mar 17,1926. He helped start and establish C&C Scrap Metal in North Carolina. Eventually, he sold his part and moved to Belton, SC where he started Belton Metal Company in 1962. LG was married to Frankie Clary for 62 years and has one daughter, Gina, who still resides in Belton. LG loved sports and was the first in the continental United States to have a private satellite receiver (as reported in the NY Times in 1979) and it was all so that he never missed a game! LG Clary retired in 2009 and died Jan 19, 2014.
Carrying on the Tradition
R. Mark Clary
Operations Manager / Public Relations / Sales
Starting in the family business at age 22, Mark began in a clerical position and yard maintenance. Working for his father he learned strong work ethics and how to run the company from the most menial positions through office management, operations management, outside sales and public relations. Just as his grandfather did 65 years ago, Mark strives to provide a productive and safe workplace, environmentally responsible setting and outstanding customer service. Mark is an avid Clemson Football Fan and is an athletic coach. He enjoys hunting and weight lifting. He and his wife of 25 years have a 15 year old daughter and 11 year old son. They are practicing Christians and are active in their church.
After Hours with Mark:
Transportation Manager / Environmental Health & Safety
Fifteen years ago Wally joined the team and soon became responsible for the Transportation & Trucking division. This is no small thing in a company that moves as much scrap metal as Belton Metal Company; both on trucks and by rail. Along with his transportation responsibilities he also oversees the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) which is one of the most vital roles in the company. Married with 5 children and 11 grandchildren, Wally and his wife stay busy, although never too busy to pursue his true passion...In fact, when not at work, you can find him with a fishing rod in hand, our out in the woods with his hunting rifle.
After Hours with Wally:
Danny N. Webb, Retired
